Located in the largest skiing area in the whole of Europe, adjacent to the Dents du Midi, the Val-d’Illiez thermal baths and ski resort occupies a strategic position at the entrance to the mountain range of the Valais. The valley is easy to get to, only one hour from Geneva-Cointrin airport, three hours from Zurich and just a few minutes from France. It opens onto the Portes du Soleil. In this region of wild pastureland, its authenticity remains unspoilt.

The amount of sunshine in the alpine crossing through the Val-d’Illiez is unique. This is why it was given the name ‘Portes du Soleil’, or Gateway to the Sun, a vast expanse which covers an area stretching from the Dents du Midi to the foothills of Mont Blanc. On the Swiss side, the Portes du Soleil slope gently down to the edges of Lake Geneva, the biggest lake in Western Europe.
