The spa waters of the Val d’Illiez emerge from a depth of 1,200m at an altitude of 780m above sea level. The water comes from a crystalline base with a high geothermic gradient within the Aiguilles Rouge massif, less than 10 km from its emergence point. A thick sedimentary layer guarantees that the high temperature is preserved and at the same time acts as a mineralising agent for the water.
These waters are sulphurous and rich in mineral salts and trace elements. Their high sulphate, calcium and magnesium content means that they have medically recognised therapeutic properties.
The spa waters of the Val-d’Illiez are particularly appropriate for the treatment of degenerative articulatory inflammations, arthritis, spinal deformation problems and of certain skin ailments such as gout and circulatory illnesses of functional or nervous origin.
The waters are also appropriate for treating catarrhal illnesses, hypertonia and the after-effects of accidents.
